Business Development and Consulting Delivery are the two pillars on any consulting organization. Different firms have in the past adopted varied models to structure these two functions ranging all the way from operating in two independent silos to a fluid system where one is indistinguishable from the other. These are often driven by business needs and the stage of the firm in its evolution. This article looks at the issue through a different metaphor altogether - that of Farmers and Soldiers.
